DIY Lampshades

Any DIY solutions for lampshades like this?

Capt. Jack from G scale central made these from suction cups believe there is 1 thread that describes it, if not you can reach him on messenger under Jack Hill from Sarasota, Bill

Bill,

It was worth the question just to get that fabulous picture in reply! Hope you have a thread on that engine house.

Thanks,

Wes

Every day is a school day. Thanks Mark.

I use “finish washers” they come in different sizes, turn them cup side up and use a “carriage bolt” head to flatten the inner cup then use brass tube or Styrene to make the posts that mount them.

another option, Rick. Thanks

If you model G scale indoors, this guys RR is great. On YouTube it’s under UB Railroad, his videos are very interesting and he show you what you can do for very little money being spent on RR projects.

I’m just guessing, but it sure seems like my idea of a lamp shade is differet…

Is this what you are thinking of as a lamp shade? (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

Mark, that was my first thought, but I had been looking at master Ray’s buildings first , so the household style was in the back of my mind already

I suppose I don’t know what else to call it. When I do a search “industrial lamp shade” it comes up. Those green ones come up.

I’m doing an outdoor layout, but some of the UB layout ideas are still applicable. As Pete will surely attest, Arizona sun is brutal.
