Spring 2020 the awaking of your empire ..

Spring 2020 the awaking of your pike.

Some shrubbery trimming was done and an attempt to rum some mow trains …too a little longer than I had hoped .

Color is popping out a little

Looks like we are in for crappy weather until the weekend. Glad I have an indoor project!

Sean,

I love the MOW equipment ! Especially the blower followed by the track cleaner !

Here we have a horse transport train …being pulled with USA’s Hudson …

Ran the Eggs on Easter …

Nice weekend helped the color to pop out …

Mine got awakened by this old guy showin up and sayin he was supposed to take care of the varmint problem on the layout.

Told him to have at it…

Bears a strong resemblance to somebody I know.

Hope he knows what he’s doin with that varmint rifle.

John L. gets my vote. Nice figure for the subject he had to work with.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

That’s great Ken! I kinda stalled on the outdoor. Had my live steam engine ready to make a run, just needed to verify track level and switch operation first, then a few weeks of crappy weather kept me inside and it never happened. I think the weeds are taking over again. Need to get after it soon!

I’ve been putzin on mine. In between keeping the rest of the yard lookin as if someone actually lives here…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Websters definition of ugly !

Amazing work though !!

Guys;

Got a question for you, since I have seen the word varmint several times in this thread. When a young varmint “comes of age,” do the other critters throw a varmintzvah for it?

My inquiring mind just wants to know, David Meashey

I ain’t sure about an empire, but it’s finally awake:

Looks great Ken

Looks great Ken. I think mine rolled over and went back to sleep (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)I had made a good start whipping it back from an 18 month nap in early spring, but then got side-tracked with numerous other projects. Meanwhile the weeds did not sleep.

I wanted to get back on mine before it went back to sleep, but I know what ya mean about other s**t gettin in the way…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

You would think that being off work for over two months now I could have put more time to it. But now I know it’s true when you retired guys say there just isn’t enough time! Afternoon naps, coffee breaks, and time wasted sitting here at the PC seem to be eating in to my productive time. If I have 4 really productive days a week I consider it a win!

On the plus side I did get your coal delivery trestle finished to the point trains can run indoors, moved several yards of crushed stone, fixed my garden tractor, fixed the garden trailer I ran over, got my boat cleaned, tuned and in the water, repaired all three switches at Indian Hill Junction and re-leveled the diamond at Walk Crossing Trans-Load. And at one point this spring I was able to get an inspection train around the entire layout.

Lemme finish this pot of coffee and maybe I can think up some other accomplishments to make myself feel better (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

EDIT to Add: Oh, yeah. I completely forgot about the 18 metal fence posts I pounded 2 feet into the ground and the 150 feet of wire fence I installed around the back yard. THAT was an accomplishment (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Golly Jon, in the last 2 months I’ve read and thoroughly learned the Ruby build instruction.

I’m impressed!

Oh and survived my chemo and radiation better than my docs expected! They don’t have a loco to build, how could they know?

Well Jon, the good thing about being retired is there is no deadline. The bad thing about being retired is there is no deadline. There’s always tomorrow…

Rooster plantation May 30th 2020 and beginning to think all the Amtrak cars I built were a bad investment !
