Hi Rooster;

Porter #65, one of the steam locomotives I ran on the Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern tourist railroad (over 43 years ago now), was the principal motive power that hauled building materials for the Safe Harbor hydroelectric project.

Regards, David Meashey

Okay, I know where Holtwood and Conowingo are. Where’s Safe Harbor?

Never heard of that one.

Just north of Holtwood Ken. Less than halfway to rte 30 (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Surprised me… hence my deleted comment. I thought you …never mind …

BTW …the LO&S main before the split heading to Quarryville is buried in Lake Octoraro as the RR’s ALWAYS(usually) follow the creeks which in this case became a necessity for modernization and was flooded.

I’ve followed it up to Tweedale before it got to the octoraro, and found a few places north of the lake. Where the Quarryville branch takes off is closer to Fairmount. There’s a lot more evidence of it from Fulton House out to Peach Bottom.
